Indonesia will not achieve NDC reduction target of 11% compared to BAU scenario
- Based on the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) document submitted to UNFCCC, Indonesia has committed to reduce GHG emissions in the energy sector to 11% unconditionally (without international aid) below the Business As Usual scenario.
- The emissions in current policy scenario will reach 1,068 MtCO2-e by 2030, compared to 1,134 MtCO2-e in the business as usual scenario.
- The transport sector biofuel mandate is the main contributor on the demand side emission reduction with 30 MtCO2-e reduction and increase in renewable electricity generation further reduces emissions by 33 MtCO2-e in 2030.
