Indonesia is on-track to achieve "near 100%" electricity access by 2020 and universal access to electricity by 2024

  • NEXSTEP analysis considers the World Bank Multi-Tier Framework for measuring electricity access, with annual consumption level close to Tier 4 level of access of 1,210 kWh for rural households to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
  • Renewable energy based off-grid electrification is the least-cost option to provide electricity to the remaining population. This option will cost US$1.72 billion and help achieve universal access by 2024.
