Measures
Indonesia is on track to achieve universal access to clean cooking fuels and technologies by 2021.
- The share of population with access to clean cooking fuels and technologies in the current policy scenario will reach 100% in 2021, up from 80.2% in 2018..
- Electric cooking stove is the recommended technology option to achieve this target for Indonesia. This option should be prioritized for the areas where the electricity system experience surplus electricity supply e.g., the JAMALI (Java-Madura-Bali) system.
- Additional benefits include: reducing dependence on fossil fuel imports, reducing vulnerability to global oil prices, higher technical energy efficiency and higher renewable energy share in Total Final Energy Consumption.
