Understanding Interactive Technology Database

Interactive Technology Database allows users to estimate the Economic, Social, and Environmental impacts of different technologies, including the following four sections:

1. Energy Efficient Technologies.  Users will be able to review annual amount, cost, GHG emissions, potential savings, and lifecycle cost of alternative technologies.  The database includes 229 specific technologies grouped into 11 general categories, such as Cooling, Lighting, Electrical Appliances, and Motive Power.
2. Renewable Energy Technologies.  Users will be able to specify a target policy term and capacity, and then review costs and emission mitigation over policy term and project lifespan.  The database includes 11 specific renewable energy technologies grouped into 6 general categories, including Geothermal, Hydropower, Solar, Wind, Biomass, and Ocean.
3. Clean Cooking Technologies.  Allow users to estimate the capital, operating and lifetime costs of various cooking technologies.  The database includes 13 specific cooking technologies grouped into 11 categories, such as Charcoal, Electric, and Solar.
4. Energy Access.  Users will be able to review and compare the costs and emissions of different technologies over their lifetime in urban and rural areas.  The database includes 9 specific technologies, divided into four categories, including Coal, Solar, Wind, and Hydro.
