Measures
Indonesia will achieve universal access to clean cooking by 2030
- Access to clean cooking fuels by using LPG stove technology is evaluated in this scenario. The intervention will substitute traditional biomass cook stoves and cost $56 per household, with a monthly fuel cost of $40 per household.
- The implementation of this program will cost the Government of Indonesia 963 Million USD to achieve universal access to clean fuels and technologies for cooking.
- LPG in Indonesia is constrained due to distribution challenges in rural areas and high level of fossil fuel subsidy. LPG cook stove has lower indoor air pollution compared to ICS and is classified as Level 4 in World Bank Multi-Tier Framework (MTF) for cooking exposure.
