Indonesia is on-track to achieve universal access to electricity by 2020
The rural electrification program of Indonesia is expected to cost 1.749 Billion USD with a connection cost of 1,033 USD per household, however this cost can increase to 1,760 USD per household in remote locations.
- NEXSTEP least-cost electrification analysis compared the cost of grid-extension, minigrid extension and renewable energy off-grid systems. The analysis indicates that offgrid solar home systems with integrated battery storage is the least-cost option at 1,016 USD to provide electricity supply and cost the Government of Indonesia 1.72 Billion USD.
